It says “Watching” instead of showing a trend. That is deliberate. A pressure tendency needs about twenty minutes of history before it means anything — a trend from ten seconds of data is noise. Leave the app open, or record a session, and it will fill in.
The altitude is wrong. Altitude from pressure depends on the sea-level pressure you assume. Set your local figure under Settings > Sea-level reference, from a nearby weather station. Left at the standard 1013.25 hPa you get pressure altitude, which is not the same as your height above sea level.
What is “since opening”? How far you have climbed or descended since the app started. That figure needs no assumptions and is precise to a fraction of a metre — far more reliable than the absolute altitude.
Can it forecast the weather? No. A barometer indicates what the air is doing right now. Falling pressure often precedes unsettled weather, which is why the trend is shown, but this is an instrument, not a forecast.
It says my device has no barometer. Most iPhones from the 6 onward have one, but not all iPads and not the iPod touch. There is no way to measure pressure without the hardware.
Does the app track me? No analytics, no accounts, no servers. Read the full privacy policy.
